Cheap Gifts that Guys Will Appreciate

Men are generally easier to please than women, which makes it easier for us to shop for the men in our lives. But shopping for presents for the male species is sometimes scary, because all they seem to want is a fancy plasma TV or the latest Xbox. Not all of us can afford to give them fancy gadgets, so we have to find cheaper alternatives that will make them happy without making us bankrupt. This is not as hard you think, and I have asked several men on what gifts we can give them that won’t hurt our wallets.

So here are the things we can give them, and believe me, they will surely appreciate the effort.

• Their favorite food This is a no-brainer, actually. The easiest way to their heart is through their stomachs anyway, so what better way to appease them than buying or cooking their favorite dish and hand it to them on a silver platter, literally? It doesn’t have to be caviar; a man can be already happy with a box of pizza and a six-pack of his favorite beer.

• A gift certificate/card to his favorite hangout You can make things fancier and hand them gift certificates to their favorite bar/restaurant. Nothing would make a man happier than eating his favorite food for free, and drinking all the beer he wants without having to pay for it.

• Bean bags All men have favorite places in common, and one of them is in front of the TV, watching DVDs and drinking beer. Getting him a bean bag to sit is something he will truly appreciate. He can give the couch some rest, finally.

• A full-body massage You can give him one of those vouchers from some fancy spa, but why bother with that when you can do the massage yourself? No man can resist a full-body rubdown, and all you need is a bottle of massage oil, some candles and your hands.

• Scrapbook Get yourself to a book store, buy a photo album and some glue, glitters, ribbons, and tags and you’re ready to work. This is what I gave to my special someone on our anniversary last year and he loved it! I compiled movie tickets, flowers that he gave me, photos of the two of us, and I wrote captions underneath each picture. It was a labor of love and it’s really inexpensive. Once you give him the scrapbook, you’ll have a lot of fun reminiscing about the times that you’ve had and trust me, he’ll look forward to the future with you.

Men may not be as complex creatures as we women are but a great thing about them is that they do not demand much. In searching for perfect yet cheap gift for men, think of what will make them happy. If you can’t buy something, an alternative is to make him a gift. Food is always a fantastic idea with guys. Or if you know how to sew or knit, use your talents. I’m sure he’ll be proud to wear something that you made with your own hands.
